The UK Home Office will suspend the placement of visa vignettes for students granted entry clearance for study (excluding visit visas) from mid-July. International students will now receive an eVisa instead of visa vignettes in their passports. The eVisa or digital immigration permission can be accessed through the UKVI accounts of students.
Benefits:
Students interested in traveling to the UK will no longer need to visit the VAC (Visa Application Center) to collect their passports after the visa is granted. Instead, they just need to visit the VAC once for biometrics and passport scanning. After just three hours of the appointment, students can collect their passports.
Note:
While only the students will receive an eVisa, dependents (partners/children) will receive both an eVisa and a physical vignette. Visit visa holders for short-term study will continue to receive visa vignettes and need to visit the VAC for passport collection.
Important:
Once students receive their application outcome emails, they must check the eVisa and report if there is any error in the eVisa.
Students must connect their valid passports to their UKVI accounts.
All required personal information and contact details must be updated through the UKVI account.
