Manitoba issues 375 ITAs for provincial nomination in PNP draw

Manitoba invited 375 immigration applicants to apply for a provincial nomination and take the next step towards Canadian immigration in a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.

This iteration of the draw, held on July 29, invited Canadian immigration candidates under three Streams of the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) – Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Education.

In the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, 285 candidates were issued invitations to apply (ITAs) for a provincial nomination from Manitoba, with a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 400.

47 candidates received ITAs for a provincial nomination from Manitoba under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. The minimum EOI score requirement for this Stream was 708 points.

43 ITAs were given out for a provincial nomination from Manitoba in the International Education Stream, with no EOI score requirement.

The first two Streams – Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas – of the MPNP identify and invite Canadian immigration applicants who meet the province’s labour market needs.

Offshore applicants are required to demonstrate close ties to the province, such as relatives residing in Manitoba, previous experience in the region, or having an invitation through one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Candidates who apply for a provincial nomination through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream must also have an existing, full-time job offer from an employer based in the province.

The International Education Stream is designed for international graduates who complete their education from an educational institution in Manitoba, and can demonstrate that they have in-demand skills necessary for the province.

ITA recipients will have to apply to the Manitoba provincial government for a nomination, as Canadian provinces cannot issue permanent immigration permits to applicants.

Applicants who are nominated by Manitoba can then apply for permanent residency in Canada to the Canadian federal government.

Candidates interested in Canadian immigration through a PNP must submit an Expression of Interest to the province they are looking to immigrate to.

For Manitoba’s provincial migration program, candidates who submit their EOI are automatically eligible for receiving a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas Streams.

The Manitoba provincial government then awards points to the candidates out of 1,000 based on a number of human capital factors, with the highest-scoring candidates being nominated by the province for permanent Canadian immigration.
