DIAC changes name to Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP)

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Australia has changed its name to Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). A spokesperson for the former DIAC told the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) on September 20 that the name change had occurred.
Since the immigration department was first established in 1945, the department’s functions and responsibilities have changed several times.
