Australia’s Graduate Work Visa Scheme attracting International Students

In a recent announcement, the Australian government said it would resume granting visas to international students.

This means when Australian borders are reopened for travel, many international students will already have Australian visas to enter the country.

International students can then apply for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), which will allow them to stay in Australia after graduation and gain work experience for up to four years.

Current and new students who are studying online with an Australian university from overseas due to the COVID-19 pandemic will also be able to benefit from this visa.
