If you want to apply for permanent immigration to Canada under the Express Entry system, you will have to overcome the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS is often the bane of aspiring immigrants and is a constant source of worry in the weeks leading up to applying for immigration.
So, what exactly is the CRS, and how do you overcome it? Let’s find out below!
A merits-based points system
The CRS is a merits-based points system applicable for every candidate under the Express Entry pool. Each candidate is awarded points based on multiple qualifying factors, with the sum being labelled the CRS score.
Applicants are awarded points out of a possible 1,200, with the highest-scoring candidates being issued invitations to apply for permanent residency in Canada by the country’s government.
