326 Masters graduates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Ontario in the latest Masters Graduate stream draw.
This invitation round of the Masters Graduate stream was held on August 25, 2021, and had an Expression of Interest (EOI) cutoff score of at least 37 points for candidates to be issued invitations to apply (ITAs) by Ontario’s provincial government.
The EOI cutoff score for this round was lower than the 39 points minimum required in the previous iteration of Ontario’s Masters Graduate stream draw.
The Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams were added to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) earlier this month as part of Ontario’s expansion of its migrant intake system.
Candidates are required to sign up with Ontario’s e-Filling Portal and then register an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Graduate stream of the OINP.
Eligible applicants are invited to apply for a provincial nomination by Ontario’s regional government for Canadian immigration, after which they will have two weeks to lodge their applications.
International students who graduate with a Master’s degree from an eligible institution in Ontario can apply for Canadian immigration through this pathway.

- Laurentian University

- Royal Military College of Canada
- Ryerson University
- Saint Paul University
- St. Jerome’s University
- Trent University
- University of Guelph
- University of Ontario Institute of Technology
- University of Ottawa
- University of St. Michael’s College
- University of Toronto
- University of Trinity College
- University of Waterloo
- University of Windsor
- Victoria University
- Western University
- Wilfrid Laurier University
- York University
Masters Graduates from any of the above institutions can apply for Canadian immigration through the Graduates stream of the OINP within two years of graduating.
Graduates can also apply for Canadian immigration through Ontario’s Masters Graduate PNP stream without having an existing job offer in the province.
Ontario’s provincial government ranks the EOI profiles of candidates based on several human capital factors, including education, official language ability, skill level and the region where they study or work.
This allows Ontario to identify and invite candidates who have the most potential to thrive in the province after immigration.
Ontario also allocates 10 points at its discretion to immigration candidates to respond to the provincial labour market needs.
