212 immigration candidates have been invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency in the latest round of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw.
Skilled workers and international students were invited to permanently move to Canada through three streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education.
Under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba immigration stream, 168 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residency, with a threshold Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 475 points. Successful candidates needed to show a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Manitoba.
For the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, 9 invitations were issued with a minimum EOI score of 824 points. These candidates needed to demonstrate established connections in Manitoba, such as having family, friends or any previous experience in the province.
Finally, for the International Education stream, 35 candidates were issued invites with no EOI score requirements. Candidates included graduates from educational institutes in Manitoba.
All candidates who wish to immigrate to Manitoba are required to register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP to be eligible for receiving invitations to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
Candidates are ranked out of 1,000 points for factors such as work experience, connections in Manitoba, and English of French language skills.
Under the MPNP, more than 3,500 candidates have been invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada so far in 2020.
